A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per bend archy Brick Red and Or, a bend archy parti of three Azure, of the second and Gules in base a columbine flower pendant slipped and leaved of the third. Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Brick Red scroll inscribed BY COURAGE AND FAITH in Gold letters.
Brick red and golden yellow are the colors for the Transportation Corps. The colors of the bend, blue, yellow and scarlet, symbolize Infantry, Armor and Artillery. They are used in reference to the Battalions mission of supporting these arms. The blue columbine, state flower of Colorado, refers to the Battalions activation in that state.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 2 December 1958.
